If you haven't been to Palm Springs lately, go IMMEDIATELY! I went there in August (yes August) and it was amazing.  I stayed at the fabulous Ace Hotel.  Great food, great staff.  If a laid back, mid-century feel is what you are looking for, book your next stay with them.  Have the Chilaquiles for breakfast at the King's Highway...you won't be disappointed. I promise.

Palm Springs is no slouch in the shopping department either.  There is an abundance of boutiques and malls depending on your taste. And I wouldn't worry about finding a golf course to match your skill level and likings, there is approximately 125 courses in the area.

(If you have the opportunity and time to take a lesson from Bob Veroulis at Trilogy Golf Club, do. He's a patient, patient man.)
